What the bump feature is?

“Bump” is a public /bump slash command that lets your server move back to the top of the Discord Buddy server list. It’s listed under Utilities and only needs basic send/view permissions for the user and the bot.

How bumping works in the bot?

When someone uses /bump, the bot checks the server’s last bump time and total bumps in the database.
If it has been less than 2 hours since the last bump, the bot sends a private message telling the user how many minutes are left before they can bump again.

* If 2 hours have passed, the bot:
  • Updates the bump time
  • Adds +1 to the bump counter
  • Sends a success message with a link to the server listing

What bumping affects on the website?

Server listings on the website are sorted by bump time by default.
This means:
  • Servers that are bumped recently show up at the top
  • Servers that haven’t been bumped in a while drop lower in the list
Users can still sort by other options (name, language, members), but bump time is one of the main ways to stay visible.
